Since its founding in 1961, the Durham Construction Association (DCA) has been guided by a legacy of strong leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing the construction industry within the Durham Region. Over the decades, the Association has been fortunate to have a series of distinguished presidents whose vision and hard work have shaped the organization’s continued success.
From our first president, M.D. Goreski (1961-62), to our current leader, D. Dallas (2019-2025), each president has contributed uniquely to the growth and evolution of the Association. Early leaders such as F.L. Brooks (1963), Wm. Lindsay (1964), and H. Jensen (1966) laid the foundation for collaboration and advocacy within the construction community. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, presidents like A.D. Fyke (1976), Wm. Martin (1979), S. Jensen (1984), and A. Scott (1986) continued to strengthen industry standards and member engagement.
The 1990s and 2000s marked an era of modernization and expanded membership under leaders such as P. Brooks (1991-92), J. Tollett (1995-96), L. Gay (2001-02), and B. Allen (2004-2006). In recent years, presidents including C. Glahs (2013-2015), K. Wilbur (2016-2018), and D. Dallas (2019-2025) have carried forward the DCA’s mission of supporting members, fostering professional development, and strengthening community partnerships.
Together, these past presidents represent more than six decades of leadership excellence, each playing an integral role in building the strong, united, and forward-thinking Association that continues to serve the construction industry today.
